This cross was erected in 1698 by Jacob Koch, the parish priest of Wattwiller, who came from Switzerland in 1663. Beneath the monogram of Christ, the priest's humorous coat of arms: a cooking pot ("Kochhàffa" in Alsatian) and two spoons ("Kochleffel").
