Diese Bergquelle wird schon im 16. Jahrhundert urkundlich erwähnt und liegt im Fürst Starhemberg'schen Waldbesitz. In früheren Zeiten kamen viele Menschen hierhin und gebrauchten das klare frische Quellwasser zur Linderung ihrer Augenleiden. Viele Flaschen mit solchem Wasser wurden selbst bis Wien verschickt.
Es wird erzählt, dass hier eine Kapelle mit einem Opferstock errichte werden sollte, doch der damalige Pfarrer erhob dagegen Einspruch, da seiner Ansicht nach die Pfarrkirche in Gramastetten davon beeinträchtigt worden wäre. So blieb es bei einem einfachen Bildstock.
Im Jahre 1985 wurde das Quellgebiet von Gestrüpp gesäubert. Bei diesen Grabungen stieß man auf ein Bruckstück einer gusseisernen Votiv-Tafel, die im Bild-Relief die Mariazeller Muttergottes darstellt, ca. 300 Jahre alt. Vermutlich hat ein Geheilter diese Tafel zum Dank gestiftet.
Das Augenbründl oder auch "Bildgraben" genannt, lädt uns ein zu einer Rast, zum Innehalten in unserem hektischen Alltag inmitten der Stille des Waldes.
