Fribourg Region
Directly opposite the compactly built village centre with its splendid wooden houses, the waterfall pours up to 6000 litres per second into the Jaunbach at peak times.
Together with the Old Church, this environment is in a force field of special proportions.
About 15 kilometres southwest of Jaun, in the area of the Vallée du Gros-Mont, is a side valley framed by the highest Fribourg Pre-Alps. This valley is called "Les Morteys". The stream of this beautiful high valley rises on the flank of the Vanil Noir at 1920 metres above sea level, flows for about three kilometres through this wild landscape and continuously loses water until it seeps away completely.
