Upper Eagle Fall

The Eagle Falls are waterfalls fed by Eagle Creek, a small stream flowing from Desolation Wilderness down to Emerald Bay.

Eagle Falls are split into two waterfalls. A short, easy trail leads from the Eagle Falls trailhead to the upper Eagle Fall. The trail offers great views to Emerald Bay. The lower waterfall is more spectacular and can best be reached with a trail starting at the Emerald Bay State Park parking lot.

In the summer months, use the Emerald Bay Trolley from South Tahoe Y Transit Center to Vikingsholm/Eagle Falls.

From South Lake Tahoe or Tahoe City, follow CA 89 to Emerald Bay.

Parking

Medium-sized parking space at the Eagle Falls Trailhead. The parking space requires a fee. There is room for a few vehicles on the side of the road where parking is free, but those spots will be filled quickly on most days.
