Strbacki buk - Una National park

Štrbački buk with its 24.5 meters of height presents the highest and the most spectacular waterfall in the National Park and beyond.

Its origin is related to the tectonic movements and the creation of travertine deposits. At the beginning of the twentieth century banks of the river and the waterfall were graced with numerous mills which were reminiscent of the dwellings, settlements of the prehistoric tribe Japodes. Dwellings are wooden houses built over the water, on the oak columns (pillars) driven into the bottom of the river.

Public transport

Bus line from Bihac to Orasac village (34 km), from this point waterfalls are available only by cycling or walking (8 km). This part of the route is unpaved road from Orasac to Strbacki buk, beautiful environment, road goes paralell with river bank (7 km), emerald green Una river.

Directions

With own vehicle via entrance no. 1 Gorjevac (14 km gravel forest road), better option entrance no. 3 Celije via Orasac village or for outdoors lovers hiking from entrance no. 2 Cukovi to Strbacki buk (5 km).

You can take that road from entrance number one to Strbacki buk, however it is not such a good road if you have a low car, it is 14 km gravel road which goes through the woods and fields. It is beautiful though. Other entrance is number 2. Cukovi but it is only for hiking or cycling. Trail is 4.5 km long. Third one is through village Orašac go towards Celije, entrance number 3. There is a gravel road there too but it is slightly better that the other one. If you are with appropriate vehicle you can enter to entrance no. 1 but our suggestion is through entrance no. 3.

Parking

Parking in front of the entrance no. 3 Celije and walking 3,5 km to waterfalls or driving with own vehicle directly to Strbacki buk waterfalls location.
