Der Simms-Wasserfall bietet zu jeder Jahreszeit ein beeindruckendes Naturspektakel. Eingebettet im Lechtal, ist er Ausgangspunkt für viele Outdooraktivitäten. 

Der Simms-Wasserfall in der malerischen Gemeinde Holzgau im österreichischen Lechtal ist ein beeindruckendes Naturerlebnis. Mit einer Höhe von etwa dreißig bis siebzig Metern stürzt das Wasser des Höhenbachs tosend über die Felsen in die Tiefe und bietet ein spektakuläres Schauspiel für Naturliebhaber. Benannt wurde der Wasserfall nach dem britischen Ingenieur Frederic Simms, der im neunzehnten Jahrhundert maßgeblich zur touristischen Erschließung der Region beitrug. Durch gezielte Sprengungen wurde der Wasserfall geformt, um ihn für Besucher besser zugänglich zu machen.

Rund um den Simms-Wasserfall gibt es zahlreiche Wanderwege, die zu Erkundungstouren einladen. Besonders beliebt ist die Route in Richtung Rossgumpenalm und Café Uta, von der aus sich herrliche Ausblicke auf das Naturwunder bieten. Abenteuerlustige können sich auf den kostenlosen Klettersteig wagen, der rund um die Felsen des Wasserfalls verläuft. Er besteht aus drei Abschnitten mit unterschiedlichen Schwierigkeitsgraden und sorgt für ein unvergessliches Erlebnis, während das Wasser wenige Meter entfernt in die Tiefe rauscht. Im Winter zeigt sich der Simms-Wasserfall von einer besonders beeindruckenden Seite, wenn er zufriert und sich in eine spektakuläre Eiskletter-Location verwandelt. Dann können geübte Kletterer die imposanten Eissäulen erklimmen und den gefrorenen Wasserfall aus einer einzigartigen Perspektive erleben.

Ein weiteres Highlight in der Umgebung ist die Hängebrücke von Holzgau, die sich in einhundertzehn Metern Höhe über das Tal spannt und atemberaubende Ausblicke auf den Wasserfall und die umliegende Berglandschaft ermöglicht. Egal ob beim Wandern, Klettern oder einfach nur beim Staunen – der Simms-Wasserfall ist ein absolutes Muss für alle, die die unberührte Natur und die Schönheit der Alpen hautnah erleben möchten.
