Pliva Falls cascading from the town center have been included in the World Natural Heritage. The Pliva Falls - one of twelve most beautiful falls in the world - were formed 50.000 years ago. The Pliva River creates numerous tiny cascades, waterfalls, the last being a 20 m high waterfall – the symbol of Jajce Town and BiH. The waterfall height has decreased over time; there is evidence that it once plunged from 36 m, whereas today's height is reduced to 20 m. Deterioration of the waterfall was caused by the construction of a hydropower station, as well as floods, pollution, earthquakes, war, and other events, which disturbed both natural and environmental values.
