Am Lechfall ergießt sich der Lech über eine im 18. Jahrhundert angelegte Staustufe in eine enge Klamm, bevor er unterhalb der Engstelle in einem breiten Bett an Füssen vorbei fließt. Eindrucksvolle Hochwassermarken am westlichen Ufer dokumentieren die Kraft, die der Fluss vor allem nach dem Beginn der Schneeschmelze in den Frühsommermonaten entwickelt.
