Es handelt sich um eine Rieselflur einer Quelle in einem Felsen des Sattnitz-Rückens, die durch den Austritt von Sickerquellen entstanden ist. Vom Felsen tropft permanent Wasser herunter, was eine interessante Wirkung auslöst. Der Ewige Regen befindet sich wenige Meter neben der Drau. Maria Rain wird mit dem Trinkwasser dieser Quelle versorgt.
