Located at the entrance to the Bruche Valley, in the Vosges d'Alsace, the Cascade du Nideck can be discovered a few kilometres outside the village of Oberhaslach. It culminates at an altitude of 534 metres, south of the remains of the Nideck castles. The water cascades down a 25-metre high wall of volcanic rock.
There is a legend, that of the giants of the Nideck, which gives this place a special atmosphere reinforced by its wild and wooded side. In summer, the walk is both refreshing and shady. In winter, the place becomes very romantic thanks to the charm of the waterfalls caught in the ice The waterfall can be reached by a hiking trail from the D218, opposite the Nideck forest house.
