Der Welterbe-Pavillon ist ein stilisiertes Pfahlbauhaus. Du befindest Dich hier auf historischem Boden. Tritt ein, nimm Platz und lass Deinen Blick über den weiten Bodensee schweifen: glitzernde Sonnenstrahlen tanzen auf dem See, weiße Segelboote schaukeln auf dem Wasser und der majetätische Säntis grüßt aus dem herllichen Bergpanorama.

Der Welterbe Pavillon ist jedoch mehr als ein wunderbarer Aussichtspunkt, um enspannt auf den Bodensee zu schauen oder schöne Selfies aufnehmen. Hier befindet sich eine der ungewöhnlichsten UNESCO-Welterbestätten überhaupt: die Prähistorischen Pfahlbauten um die Alpen. Unmittelbar am Hafen in Unteruhldingen liegt die größte Fundstätte dieser Art am Bodensee. Hier sind Forscher einst auf ein Feld mit rund 100.000 Pfählen gestoßen, auf Reste von mindestens 8 Uferdörfern (zwischen 3.900 bis 850 v. Chr.) sowie unzählige Relikte aus der Bronzezeit. Und mit etwas Phantasie könnte man auch einfach sagen: Willkommen am Badischen Atlantis!
