At the eastern end of the mountain plateau, the view opens up far into the Filstal valley and to the Drei Kaiserberge mountains. This is where the Wasserberghaus is located, a managed hut of the Swabian Albverein dating back to 1926. With its location directly on the Albtrauf and the inviting terrace, it is a popular destination for hikers and cyclists. The hut offers refreshments and overnight accommodation and is also located directly on the Swabian Alb North Rim Trail, a traditional long-distance route along the Albtrauf.
The Wasserberg combines quiet forest paths, impressive viewpoints and a historic Albverein hut to create a varied nature experience - ideal for tours around Schlat or as a stage on long hiking routes.
