Von der Aussichtsplattform der Wasserflue aus reicht der Blick über das Mittelland, die Alpen, den Jura und den Schwarzwald. Aber nicht nur der Blick in die Ferne lohnt sich: Im Sommer tummeln sich zahlreiche hübsch gemusterte Mauereidechsen auf den Felsen um den Aussichtspunkt.
Die Wasserflue ist auch eine Wetterscheide zwischen Mittelland und Fricktal: Im Mittelland herrscht während bis zu 80 Tagen im Jahr Hochnebel, im Fricktal scheint dagegen meist die Sonne. Je nach Wetterlage kann man bei Nebel im Mittelland auf der Wasserflue trotzdem die Sonne und die Alpensicht über das Nebelmeer hinweg geniessen.
Anreise: Ausgangspunkte für Wanderungen sind das Bänkerjoch, die Saalhöhe, die Staffelegg und Küttigen. Ab der Bushaltestelle Benkerjoch, Passhöhe ist die Wasserflue in 1h zu Fuss erreichbar. Die Aussichtsplattform befindet sich ca. 400 Meter entlang des Grats vom Fernsehturm entfernt.
Wandertipp: Entlang der zweiten Etappe des Aargauer Wegs von Wittnau nach Aarau (5h 50min) über die Wasserflue.
