The Utsikten viewpoint provides a necessary rest point immediately before or after driving the twisting and turning road through Bårddalen Valley.
Utsikten means “the view” in Norwegian–quite an apt name. The structure pokes out over the edge of the mountain for an outlook down the valley and over the surrounding mountains. The pointed design, reaching the north, south, and west delivers a variety of viewing angles worth exploring. The viewpoint was completed in 2016.

Where to stay
Hov Hyttegrend offers cabins and facilities for tents, as well as shuttle services to Fossestien every morning in the high season.
Flatheim Farm is a traditional B&B. They offer comfortable beds and facilities for camping, as well as guided trips and a summer café with local refreshments.
