From Trachilas one can see the civilized part of Kythera - Chora and Fortezza - from afar, while the surrounding landscape is barren and wild.
Along the stretch of cape Trachilas, away from the hustle of the people, Chora and the Fortezza seem to belong to another island. The lacy coastline up to there hide beaches and sea caves. It is perhaps the most intense contact with the seascapes of southern Kythera.
