Storhaugen liegt im Storfjellet in der Gebirgslandschaft rund um Bergen. Von hier ergibt sich eine wunderbare Aussicht über das schroffe Isdalen mit dem Svartediket-See bis nach Bergen und die vorgelagerte Fjord- und Insellandschaft mit dem Eldfjellet auf der Großinsel Holsnøy. Nach Südosten kann man mit etwas Glück den Folgefonna-Gletscher erspähen.
