Teil der Göttinger Landwehr

Die dritte und äußerste Landwehrlinie der Stadt Göttingen, die kurz nach 1400 erbaut wurde, verläuft in der Gemarkung Roringen als sichtbares Wall-Grabensystem mit einer Warte. Dieser mittelalterliche Beobachtungsposten aus dem Jahr 1408/09, auch Berwinkelswarte genannt, steht als Rundturm am Ortsausgang Richtung Waake an der heutigen Bundesstraße 27.
