Ramberg Beach

On the north side of Flakstad you will find one of the most beautiful beaches in the Lofoten Islands. The white sandy beach stretches along the small village, between towering mountains and the open horizon of the Arctic Ocean. In the summertime you can take a refreshing swim. The scenery is so seductive on warm sunny days that a lot of people just want to go for a swim.  Although the temperature of the water is much lower than what travelers are used to, due to the Gulf Stream, the water is surprisingly warmer than one would expect in the arctic.

The beach is also an excellent place for enjoying the midnight sun, strolling along the waterfront, bouldering on the big rock or simply sitting on the white sand listening to the waves breaking on the shore.

As you enter Ramberg from the east you will find a sign directing you to a viewpoint just above the beach. Here you can take some really impressive pictures of the beach, Ramberg and the mountains stretching westward.
