Follow a short trail to get up close to these wild falls

A long popular attraction, the Øvstefossen Waterfall plunges into the Hjelledalen Valley by the base of the Gamle Strynefjellsvegen scenic route. Head to the bottom of the parking lot to find your way to the falls. A 200-meter long trail leads to viewpoints, with steel barriers offering protection.

Directions

Øvstefossen is just outside the western endpoint of Norwegian Scenic Route Gamle Strynefjellsvegen. Along Road 15, park in the roadside parking lot 350 meters from the turn-off to Gamle Strynefjellsvegen.
