The Krockstein observation point is located above the Harz town of Neuwerk and offers a beautiful view of the Brocken and Wurmberg mountains. Another interesting view opens up here, not only for railway fans. On the right you look directly at the Kreuztal viaduct, also known as the Krockstein viaduct of the Rübelandbahn. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy a fantastic view from the viewing bench and the evening sunset.

The observation point is about 1 km from the Harz village of Neuwerk. You climb the mountain village to the last house and then get on the trail directly to the viewpoint.

In the years 1715 to 1889, red marble (red iron colored limestone rich in fossils) was quarried here on the western slope and processed in a marble mill.

Today the Krockstein is an idyllic vantage point with many views. See for yourself.
