The Nurren is a foothill of the 'Studenland'. This is the name given to the entire Table Jura mountain range between the Surb and Rhine valleys.
From the Nurren vantage point, the view sweeps across the Rhine to the Black Forest and down to Rekingen/CH and Reckingen/D, as well as to the market town of Bad Zurzach with its striking tower at the Zurzach thermal baths. Another view leads to the Musital quarry and the Solvay site. A perfect place for a short break to take a picnic during a hike.
