Der Napf ist mit seinen 1406 m Höhe der höchstgelegene Aussichtspunkt zwischen Emmental und Entlebuch.
Aussichtsberg Napf und Napfgebiet Vom Napf erschliesst sich das Panorama über das Luzerner Hinterland wie auch über das Emmental. Der Rundblick reicht vom Jura im Norden zu den Berner Alpen im Süden bis hin zu den Zentralschweizer Alpen im Südosten. Bei Nacht sieht man die Lichter des Jungfraujochs, des Stockhorns ebenso wie jene des Weissensteins auf der vordersten Jurakette. Der 85 km lange Grenzpfad Napfbergland führt auf oft wildromantischen Wegen vom barocken Kloster St. Urban über den Napf bis aufs Brienzer Rothorn. Der Fernwanderweg folgt der kulturell und historisch bedeutsamen Grenze zwischen den Kantonen Bern und Luzern. Die Napfwälder sind ein bevorzugter Lebensraum des Auerhuhns. Durch richtiges Verhalten können Wanderer dazu beitragen, die Wildtiere im Napfgebiet nicht zu stören.
Anreise - Keine Strasse und keine Bahn führen zum Gipfel, nur zu Fuss oder mit dem Bike kann das gemütliche Gipfel-Berghaus erreicht werden. - Kurze Aufstiegsrouten beginnen auf der Mettlenalp zuhinterst im Fankhausgraben (via Trubschachen) oder von Hinder Ey beim Luthernbad. Besonders beliebt und oft begangen ist die Wanderung von der Lüderenalp auf den Napf, sie zählt zu den schönsten im Emmental. - Radeln Sie entlang der Herzschlaufe Napf, sie ist eine spektakuläre Entdeckungsroute rund um den Napf.
Aktivitäten Mit dem Austritt der Ur-Aare ist auch Gold aus den Berglagerstätten der Alpen ins Napfgebiet verfrachtet worden. Es kann heute noch als kleine, flache Flitterchen aus den meisten Bächen gewaschen werden.
Verpflegung Das sonnige, aussichtsreiche Berghotel Napf auf dem Gipfel verfügt über eine schöne Terrasse und einfache Gästezimmer und Matratzenlager. Ein idealer Ort auch für Familien mit Kindern.
