Monument du Galtz

Come and discover the Galtz monument, also known as the "Alsatian Corcovado", at an altitude of 731 meters.
The statute of Galtz represents Christ blessing the Alsatian plain, located between the communes of Ammerschwihr, Katzenthal and Niedermorschwihr. The statue was erected in the 1930s to pay tribute to the victims of the Alsatian battlefields.
Climb up the monument and the passageway offers a superb panoramic view of the Vosges Massif, part of the Alsace wine route, magnificent Alsatian villages, the Rhine plain and, on a clear day, Germany's Black Forest massif.
The area can be explored on foot from the Trois-Epis town center, or by hiking from Ammerschwihr, or why not take a day trip from Kaysersberg with your own picnic.
The statue offers magnificent, sweeping views of Alsace's famous landscapes.
