Standing inside the temple you'll have a breathtaking view over the southern part of the English Garden and the tops of Munich's old town. You will recognize the famous Frauenkirche, the New Town Hall or the Theatine Church. On sunny days you can even spy the Alps.
Because of its exposed position on a 15-meter hill the view is incredible even though being in nature.
The ancient Greek temple with ionic columns itself has been built between 1832 and 1837. On behalf of King Leopold I of Bavaria architect Leo Klenze designed the monument.
