Der Metilstein ist ein beeindruckender Aussichtspunkt oberhalb von Eisenach und ein echtes Highlight für Naturliebhaber und Wanderer. Auf einer Höhe von 365 Metern eröffnet sich hier ein wunderschöner Blick auf die Wartburg, die majestätisch auf einem gegenüberliegenden Hügel thront. Besonders bei Sonnenaufgang oder Sonnenuntergang wird dieser Ort zu einem echten WOW-Moment. Der Metilstein ist nicht nur landschaftlich reizvoll, sondern auch geschichtsträchtig: Hier befand sich einst eine mittelalterliche Burg, von der heute noch einige Mauerreste zeugen. Der Aussichtspunkt ist über verschiedene Wanderwege gut erreichbar und lässt sich wunderbar mit einer Tour durch die berühmte Drachenschlucht verbinden.
