Kriesenkopf

Der Kriesenkopf ist ein Plateau oberhalb der Stadt Rhens, das eine wunderbare Aussicht bietet. Der Name Kriesenkopf ist zusammengesetzt aus "Kopf", was hier für eine Bergkuppe steht und "Gries", was Kies oder grobe Körner bezeichnet. Tatsache ist, dass in diesem Gemarkungsabschnitt Kiesvorkommen sind, die zu den Rheinterrassen gehören.
