The Hother Tower (Hotherbastei) was one of the 30 bastions of the city wall of Görlitz and is today the last remaining corner bastion on site. Here, the old town with its "tanners' quarter" at the Neisse River ("Hother") meets the Nikolaivorstadt with its "weavers' quarter".

The two-storey tower with its three-quarter round ground plan was built in the second half of the 13th century. The Hotherbastei is surrounded by the mighty Vogtshof at the north-eastern corner of the city wall and the Nikolaizwinger, part of the original double city wall ring of Görlitz.
