A mindössze 314 méteres Karu-fészke-tető kicsiny oldalgerincéről tágas kilátásban lehet részünk. Feltárul előttünk Gömörszőlős medencéje, egy alacsony dombok által ölelt kis katlan. Az agyagos üledékek fedte lejtőkről az erdőt rég leirtották, de az állattartásnak sem látni már nyomait. Néhány apró lejtőcsuszamlás „sebén” és a többnyire gerinchelyzetű erdőfoltokon kívül semmi sem töri meg a zöldellő lejtők végtelen hullámzását. A falutól északra ősgyümölcsös foglalja el a domboldalt a Szőlőhegyen. A gömörszőlősiek minden évben programot, kis fesztivált szerveznek ide, mely a hangzatos „Paraszt-Wellness” névre hallgat. Ennek vendégei önkéntes munkában ápolják, gondozzák a területet.
Az erdőtlen dombvidéket rövid vízfolyások szabdalták fel, a völgyekben aprófalvak, többnyire elnéptelenedő települések bújnak meg. A nyugat felé eső vonulat az államhatárt hordozza, erdős hátán a határt követő Északi Zöld turistaútvonal Z jelzése fut. A terület kiválóan alkalmas a sátrazásra, bár vizet csak a faluban találunk.

Parking
- Gömörszőlősön a falu főterén tudunk parkolni.
- Zádorfalván a községháza előtt parkolhatunk (a Kossuth Lajos utca és a Nagy utca kereszteződésénél).
