High up in the mountains between the fjords, with snow on the ground long into summer, Flotane sits amongst plains, peaks, and lakes. The viewpoint is located in the heart of Aurlandsfjellet, around halfway along the scenic route that runs from Lærdalsøyri to Aurlandsvangen.
A stop at Flotane is an opportunity to simply stretch your legs or to immerse yourself in the landscape. Wander down to the lake, hike higher up into the mountains along the old construction road, or pitch your tent and spend the night.
