"Dedicated to the foresters and forest workers who died in the World War and who lived and worked in the Elmstein valley".

Von Kaiserslautern (A6) kommend: Abfahrt Enkenbach-Alsenborn, Richtung Fischbach / Hochspeyer (B48), dann auf der B48 bleiben bis nach Hochspeyer - Richtung Johanniskreuz. Dann weiter auf der L 504 Richtung Waldleiningen / Elmstein. Am Ende der L 504 befindet sich der Wanderparkplatz "Alte Schmelz".
Von Neustadt an der Weinstraße (A65) kommend: Abfahrt Neustadt Weinstr. / Süd, der B39 folgen bis nach Lambrecht (Pfalz), hinter Lambrecht (Pfalz) geht es nach links ab ins Elmsteiner Tal (L499). Wir folgen der L499 bis nach Elmstein. Der Wanderparkplatz "Alte Schmelz" befindet sich hinter Elmstein, nach rechts abbiegen Richtung Weidenthal. Direkt hinter der Abzweigung ist der Wanderparkplatz.

Vom Parkplatz aus der Wandermarkierung vom "Kuckucksbähnelweg" folgen. Die L499 vom Parkplatz aus überqueren, dann vorbei an der alten Infotafel vom Trifterlebnis Legelbachtal.
