The Dint Trail is a picturesque loop trail through the woods above Lake Barcis, within the Forra del Cellina Nature Reserve. Three spectacular overlooks offer views of the lake, the gorge, and the mountains of the Valcellina.
The Dint Trail, in the Barcis area, is a scenic loop trail that begins near the Visitor Center of the Forra del Cellina Nature Reserve, in Ponte Antoi. The trail winds through a picturesque beech forest, following the ridge that separates the Barcis Lake basin from the deep gorges carved by the Cellina and Molassa streams. Along the way, you’ll come across the Pozzo della Pioggia, an interesting karst phenomenon, before reaching three different scenic overlooks overlooking the Valcellina landscape.
The first viewpoint, with its distinctive suspended walkway, offers a spectacular view of the lake and the Ponte Antoi dam; the second overlooks the Cellina Gorge directly, while from the third—located at the highest point of the route and featuring a panoramic tower—the view sweeps 360 degrees toward Barcis, Andreis, and the surrounding mountains. The entire trail is approximately 4.3 km long, with an elevation gain of 215 meters, and allows you to discover some of the most distinctive geological and scenic features of the Friulian Dolomites in just a few hours.
