Der Aussichtsturm im nordwestlichen Bereich der Rundwanderung bietet einen schönen Blick über das renaturierte Werdensteiner Moos. Ziel der Moorrenaturierung ist es, die natürlichen Funktionen des Moores als Wasser- und Kohlenstoffspeicher wieder herzustellen und den Lebensraum für seltene Arten zu sichern. Diese Aufgabe wird seit 1993 von der Forstverwaltung, den Bayerischen Staatsforsten, dem Bund Naturschutz in Bayern e.V., den Naturschutzbehörden und der Stadt Immenstadt gemeinsam geschultert.
