Der Centgraf war ein vom Landesherrn - dem Mainer Erzbischof - eingesetzter Beamter, der an der Spitze der Cent Bürgstadt (Gerichtsbezirk) stand und auch die Landesverteidigung organisierte. Als solcher amtete 1625 - 1655 Leonhard Gackstatt. Dieser begann 1630 mit dem Bau einer Kapelle am Wannenberg, deren Türsturz die Jahreszahl "1630" trägt. Wegen des Schwedeneinfalls ein Jahr später blieb die Kapelle jedoch unvollendet.Die eindrucksvolle Ruine steht am Beginn des "Historischen Wanderwegs", der zu zahlreichen Steindenkmälern (Heunsäulen, Sarkophag- und Mühlsteinfragmente) führt - Zeugen mittelalterlicher und frühneuzeitlicher Steinbearbeitung am Wannenberg. Die handwerkliche Mühlsteingewinnung wurde dort noch bis nach 1900 ausgeübt.
