Die Alpgebäude - Hütte, Stupli und Stall - stehen wie auf einer Schnur aufgereit auf einer Höhe von ca. 2'000 m ü. M. und sind Zeitzeugen der früher vorherrschenden Landwirtschaft.
Die Camaner Hütta zeugen von der traditionellen Landwirtschaft, welche die Walser bis Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts erhalten konnten. Neben ihrem bewohnten Hof auf der Dorfstufe betrieb jede Familie eine Einzelsennerei auf der Alpstufe. Diese bestand aus drei Einheiten, der Sennerei (Hütte), der Schlafstube (Stupli) und der Stallscheune, wo die Kühe die Nacht verbrachten und zweimal täglich gemolken wurden. Im Heuraum dieser Stallscheunen war nur Heu zur Überbrückung von Schlechtwetterperioden eingelagert. Er war deshalb nur gering bemessen. Die Alpgebäude liegen aufgereiht zwischen Alpwiesen und Alpweiden auf einer Höhe von 1'800 bis 2'000 m ü. M.
