Die über 850 Jahre alte Burg Eltz liegt wundervoll im Elzbachtal versteckt, inmitten ursprünglicher Natur. Nicht nur im Dreißigjährigen Krieg entging die Burg der Zerstörung, sondern auch während der pfälzischen Erbfolgekriegen. Daher ist die Burg Eltz eine der wenigen nie zerstörten Burgen im Rhein-Mosel-Gebiet. Bekannt wurde die Burg auch durch den 500-Mark-Schein, dessen Rückseite sie zierte.
Eine Besichtigung der Burg Eltz ist eine Zeitreise durch acht Jahrhunderte Geschichte, die sich in der Architektur der Räume und in deren Einrichtung widerspiegelt. Eine Führung durch die authentisch eingerichteten Wohn- und Schlafräume, Waffenhalle und Rittersaal sowie Jagdzimmer und Küche ist ein besonderes Erlebnis mit mittelalterlichem Flair. Im Keller der Burg Eltz befindet sich zudem eine der bedeutendsten privaten Schatzkammern mit einer Sammlung von Gold- und Schmiedearbeiten sowie Schmuck, Porzellan und Waffen.
