in Bad Ditzenbach: After a 20-minute walk from the parking lot at Schonterhöhe, you reach the rock formation with a great view, bench and special variety of plants.
The Badfelsen in Bad Ditzenbach is an impressive natural monument and well worth a short excursion. A leisurely footpath leads from the parking lot at Schonterhöhe to the striking group of rocks in around 20 minutes. Once there, a wonderful view of the valley awaits you. A bench invites you to stop for a moment and enjoy nature in peace.
The rocks rise up to over 30 meters in height and are illuminated by the sun in the upper area. There are numerous crevices and rock bushes, especially on the southern rock. There is a great diversity of species here: Many plants that are typical of dry locations grow on the calcareous grassland. This creates a special habitat that is very different from the surrounding forests.
Exciting plant species can also be found on the neighboring rocks, which grow in the shade thanks to the protection of the trees. Below the rock is a small area of ash and maple forest. The area around the Badfelsen thus offers a great variety of landscape and nature in a small space.
A visit is worthwhile for anyone who appreciates nature, tranquillity and beautiful views - whether on a short hike or as an excursion destination in between.
