Der Soonwald ist 657 m hoher bewaldeter Gebirgszug als Teil des Mittelgebirges Hunsrück. Er liegt zwischen dem Hauptkamm des Hunsrücks und dem Nahetal.

Der Soonwald ist 657 m hoher bewaldeter Gebirgszug als Teil des Mittelgebirges Hunsrück. Er liegt zwischen dem Hauptkamm des Hunsrücks und dem Nahetal. Er ist das Herzstück des 2005 gegründeten Naturparks Soonwald-Nahe, der von den schönen Hochflächen des Hunsrücks über die Quarzitkämme des Soonwalds mit seinen tief eingeschnittenen Bachtälern bis hin zu den Rebhängen des Nahetals reicht.
