The Olympic Tower, also called television tower, was built in the course of the 1972 Olympic Games and is today one of Munich's landmarks and the second-highest building in Bavaria.

It was built at the end of the 1960s, mainly as a television tower to broadcast the Olympic Games without interference, and today serves as a lookout tower for visitors.

There is also a restaurant at the height of 181 meters. The guest area is arranged ring-shaped around the core of the tower and is mounted on a rotating module. In this way, the guest "floats" above the city during the meal.

At that time, the Olympic Tower as a television tower was also intended to present the freedom of the press of the still young democracy. An open mined Germany, which wants to free itself from the dark times of National Socialism.

Public transport

Subway stop U3 Olympiazentrum. Then follow the signs in southern direction to Olympiapark. The entrance to the tower is on the southern side, on the shore of the Olympic lake.

Directions

Enter the given address into the navigation system and drive via the Mittlerer Ring to the parking harp of the Olympiapark. Alternatively you can also park in the Olympic Village.
