Surrounded by high rock – yet so open and wide. Thanks to its alpine location, Kandersteg has been appreciated as a holiday destination for centuries. It is a large area full of charming transitions between chalet village and Blüemlisalp, and between varied activities and relaxing moments.

There are many reasons to love wintertime in Kandersteg. There are endless miles of cross-country ski runs that wind their way down into the valley and breathtaking mountain scenery. There are thrilling descents, glistening powder snow and cosy wooden chalets. But a love of the mountains means much more to us, namely warm and attentive hospitality. Quite simply, we want each and every guest to feel they are coming home – to the heart of the Bernese Oberland.

Arrival at Kandersteg train station
South of the Lötschberg, north of the Kander Valley. For this point between Brig (38 min.)and Bern (61 min.), an hourly train service is in operation but thanks to its station buffet,this is an ideal meeting point for many tours.
