This unique building stands on the northern edge of Kythera, at the tip of the cape. In 1903, almost 50 years after the lighthouse was erected, the signal house was constructed by order of the Greek state. The building is stone-built, with large symmetrical openings, and a special metal web. This web made it possible to receive and send signals from a qualified operator. It is the only original signal house in Greece in relatively good condition and perhaps the last left in the country.
