In the heart of the sunny Glan valley, away from mass tourism, lies the municipality of Glanegg.
Idyllic farms, romantic hiking trails, blooming meadows and relaxing forests inspire hikers and nature lovers alike. Extensive riding and cycling trails (partly along the Glan) make the Glan Valley a riding and cycling paradise.
Today's municipality of Glanegg was created by merging the municipalities of Glanegg (Friedlach), Maria Feicht and Tauchdorf (1957). In 1993 the community celebrated the 1000 year anniversary of the first documented mention (993) of the villages of Deblach, Gamilach and Tauchendorf.
The Glanegg castle ruins with their lush vineyards, the Maria Feicht pilgrimage church and many other sights will delight culture lovers in particular. A separate network of bridle paths, well-kept, wooded hiking and biking trails and tennis provide a varied program for all sports enthusiasts.
