Bereits seit 1912 genießen Einwohner und Gäste Lanas und Merans Umgebung das Privileg mit einer Seilbahn in kürzester Zeit auf ihren Hausberg zu fahren.

In der Steinzeit war das noch etwas mühsamer, wie aber Funde belegen, war das Vigiljoch damals schon von Jägern frequentiert. Heute ist der Berg, der sich seltsamerweise Joch nennt, ein Paradies für Wanderer und Mountainbiker.
Zahlreich Einkehrmöglichkeiten lassen einem die Qual der Auswahl und viele gut beschilderte Wanderwege bieten vom bequemen Spaziergang bis zu anspruchsvoller Tour alles, was sich Bewegungshungrige wünschen können. Im Winter bietet ein kleines Skigebiet Schneespass für Familien und Kulturbeflissene sollten auf jeden Fall der Kirche St. Vigil auf 1793 Metern Seehöhe einen Besuch abstatten.
