Skradski vrh

Skradski vrh rises above Skrad as a solitary hill covered in forest on all sides, and very steep. On the peak, there is a beautiful grassland plateau with the chapel of the Assumption of Our Lady, as well as benches. The geodetic pillar, the marking of the peak and the metal seal are located on a mound next to the small meadow. From Skrad and Skradski vrh, the mountain ridge approximately 5 kilometers long continues towards Ravna Gora. It spreads in the same direction as the Dinarides, with the peak of Javorova kosa at its southern end. There is a longitudinal trail connecting Skradski vrh with Kicljeve jame and Kicljev vrh and with the area of Ravna Gora. Opposite to Skradski vrh, below Skrad, hidden in the bottom of a natural depression 300 meters deep, lies Vražji prolaz – one of the most beautiful natural phenomena of Gorski kotar and Croatia. Its most attractive part is the narrow canyon of the creek of Jasle. Not far from Vražji prolaz, we see an equally impressive cascade of the creek of Curak diving in front of the magnificent cave portal of Zeleni vir. Roaring watercourses and pleasant forest shade give a unique character to the ambiance, especially in the summer months. It takes 45 minutes to descend there from Skrad.

View: From the cylinder on the peak, visitors need to continue hiking for 2 minutes to the upper edge of a steep meadow, where they can enjoy attractive views of Vijenac, Javorova kosa, Turmin, Višnjevica and the most distant Bjelolasica.

Seal: GPP seal is in the cylinder on the peak – one minute of hiking away from the chapel and the small meadow in the immediate vicinity of the peak.
