Der Schallenberg, ein Gipfel mit 310 m Höhe, ist unmittelbarer Nachbar des Geisbergs im Siebengebirge und wird oft im Rahmen des Rheinsteiges begangen.
Zwar kein Aussichtsgipfel und ohne Schutzhütte, aber dafür mit einem die Höhe anzeigendem "Gipfelkreuz" aus Holz.
Public transport
Nur zu Fuß, z. B.
- ab Rhöndorf. Bis dorthin mit Bus oder Bahn oder
- ab Königswinter mit der Drachenfelsbahn zur Bergstation und von dort zu Fuß.
Directions
Über die B 42 von Nordwesten kommend nach Königswinter und den Schildern der Drachenfelsbahn folgen oder weiter auf der B 42 bis Ausfahrt Rhöndorf, Ortsteil von Bad Honnef.
Parking
In Königswinter auf einem der zahlreichen kostenpflichtigen Parkplätzen. Sie sind alle gut ausgeschildert.
In Rhöndorf auf dem Ziepchenplatz, das ist in der Ortsmitte, unterhalb des Drachenfelsens. Kostenlos, aber zumindest bei gutem Wetter und sonntags meist überfüllt. Ein paar Parkplätze gibt es auch in der zuführenden "Drachenfelsstraße" am Seitenstreifen zwischen den vielen Ausfahrten der Anwohner.
