St. Pietersberg is actually a hill, but to the Dutch it is really a mountain.

On St. Peter's Mountain there is plenty to do. There are caves and a fortress to visit. It is also a beautiful piece of nature on the outskirts of busy Maastricht. Part of the Sint pietersberg belongs to the ENCI quarry. Until a few years ago, the ENCI quarry was used for marl extraction. Currently, the area is developing into a nature reserve. Visitors can walk there and enjoy the view. The quarry has also become a place for bats and various species of plants.
