Pen - Y - Fan is the tallest mountain in the Brecon Beacons and it neighboured by Corn Du which is the second highest mountain, both were burial sites in the Bronze Age.

Known for being the tallest mountain in south Wales Pen - Y - Fan is given the local nickname 'The Motorway' due to the vast number of tourists it attracts each year. It's easy terrain makes it an option even for the most inexperienced hikers, but taking precautions is advised because if the weather changes it could potentially be dangerous.
The name translates to 'the top peak' due to it being the tallest mountain around.
From the top you can see views of the bristol channel, Sugar Loaf Mountain and the Gower Peninsula .
The summit is marked by a Bronze Age burial tomb which was excavated in 1991.
In the middle of the Brecon Beacons this mountain isn't one to be missed by anyone with a passion for hiking or sightseeing, on the way up the mountain you encounter.
