The Glatzenstein in the Nürnberger Land

Der 572 m hohe Glatzenstein in der Fränkischen Alb ist ein herrlicher Aussichtsberg mit weiten Blicken über das Nürnberger Land und deshalb ein beliebtes Ziel bei Wanderern und Kletterern.

Der reichlich bewaldete Glatzenstein besteht aus Jurakalk-Gestein und gehört zum Naturpark Fränkische Schweiz-Veldensteiner Forst. Die Bergkuppe ist von den umliegenden Ortschaften Weißenbach, Kersbach, Oberkrumbach und Siegersdorf aus gut zu erreichen und bietet somit ein schönes Ziel für Wanderer und Spaziergänger.

Auch Kletterer kommen an dem Kalksteinmassiv auf ihre Kosten. Derzeit gibt es in der bis zu 30 m hohen Wand 34 Routen in den Schwierigkeitsgraden 4 bis 9 nach der UIAA-Skala.
