Der Monte Tamaro ist ein 1962 m hoher Berg in den Tessiner Voralpen. Er ist vor allem für seinen einzigartigen Rundumblick bekannt: Von seinem Gipfel sieht man gleichzeitig auf Lugano, Bellinzona sowie auf das Nordufer des Lago Maggiore, wo zwischen den beiden Städten Ascona und Locarno der Fluss Maggia in den See mündet. Daneben sind zahlreiche Berggipfel, unter anderem die Alpenstöcke des Monte Rosa und der Mischabelgruppe sowie das Matterhorn zu sehen.
