Dieser markante Berg befindet sich inmitten der schottischen Highlands und zählt zur imposanten Cairngorms-Berggruppe. Er gilt als sogennanter „Munro“, d.h. als Berg über 3000 Fuß mit eigenständigem Gipfel. Lochnagar liegt oberhalb des Schlosses Balmoral Castle, daher empfiehlt es sich, im Rahmen einer umfangreicheren Tour die Festung ebenfalls zu besuchen.
