Die Südspitze des Everests 
Mit einer Höhe von 8516 m ist der Gipfel der vierthöchste Berg der Erde. Aus dem tibetischen übersetzt bedeutet der Name des Gipfels „Südspitze“ und ist eine Anspielung auf die direkte Nachbarschaft und Anbindung zum Massiv des Everests. Die markante Südseite des Lhotse ist gekennzeichnet durch die 3000 m hohen steilen Felswände.
